Measure both. Choose the size that slides over the knuckle without forcing, then sits with slight resistance at the base.

Borrow a ring she wears on that hand. Trace the inside circle on paper, or measure across the inside, and send us the number. Matching the finger matters more than matching the ring.

"1 ctw" is a pair, not each
CTW is the total weight of both earrings. A 1 ctw pair is 0.50 ct per ear — about 5 mm each. Always check which number a price is quoting.
How to measure
Lay a necklace you already wear flat and straighten it fully.
Measure end to end, clasp included.
No necklace? Loop a ribbon where you want it to sit, mark it, measure it flat.
Paper strip, thirty seconds
Wrap a strip of paper around your wrist, just below the wrist bone.
Mark where it overlaps.
Lay it flat, measure to the mark, then add your comfort room above.
Carat is weight, not size
A 1 ct round measures about 6.5 mm across. A 1 ct marquise runs about 10 mm long. Same weight, different presence.
Elongated shapes — oval, marquise, pear — face up larger than a round of the same carat.
